NECESSARY DOCUMENTS FOR ERS STUDY
READ ME FIRST
1.0 Please read the DISCLAMIER first and then attach the information noted in the following table for ERS study.
1. Equipment information
Include specification and drawing.See 2.1 below.
2. Process Information, if applicable
See 2.3 below.
3. Utility Information, if applicable
4. P & ID
Include all drawings related to the equipment. See 2.2 below.
5. Layout, Plan & Elevation
Include drawing.
6. Isometric of relief path
Preliminary sketch is acceptable.
7. Deflagration
Needed for deflagration venting.
2.0 MISCELLANEOUS DATA for applications other than deflagration venting.
2.1 Pumps
If a pump is the source of the overpressure, please supply the following information:
2.1.1 For a centrifugal pump, please supply performance curve and operating points (gpm & TDH) , suction equipment operating pressure, identification of fluid, density, viscosity, and vapor pressure at operating condition. If the suction equipment has a relief device, indicate the relief pressure.
2.1.2 For a positive displacement pump, please supply flow capacity, type of pump, identification of fluid, density, viscosity, and vapor pressure at operating condition.
2.2 Control Valve, Regulator etc.
If a control valve failure may cause an overpressure, please supply the following information:
Make and model of the valve. Nozzle size*, Cv, upstream and downstream pressure*, downstream line size*, number/type/size of fittings, elevation change, and straight length from the valve to the protected equipment. Indicate fluid name, and normal flow rate, if known.
*minimum requirement.
2.3 Physical properties.
If the components identified in the process information are non-standard components, then the molecular structure with physical state ( solid, liquid, or gas) at ambient condition and as many physical properties as available should be informed.
2.4 Existing Device.
If an existing device is to be examined for adequacy, the information on the model, make, size, flow area [please indicate API or ASME area], Kd for gas and liquid and whether the device is good for two-phase flow or not should be supplied.
2.5 Fire Area Classification.
If relatively precise calculation on heat-up time and fire duration are required, and fire zoning information is available, then following information is required:
Name of fire zone, name of flammable material, area of fire zone, largest volume of tank containing flammable material, flow rate of flammable material in the pipeline in the area, and the time to stop flow if the pipe breaks. Indicate if foam is available for fire fighting.
